Represents debtors, creditors, banks, hedge funds, lenders, asset purchasers and other strategic parties in a wide range of complex corporate restructuring matters.

Adam has substantial experience in corporate restructurings and bankruptcies, representing debtors, creditors and other strategic parties in bankruptcies, out-of-court workouts, liability management transactions, debt exchanges, direct lending transactions, debtor-in-possession and exit financings, litigation, cross-border insolvencies and section 363 sales.

In 2021, the Turnaround Management Association recognized Adam for his work in the Murray Energy bankruptcy, which TMA named the “Mega Company Turnaround/Transaction of the Year.” In 2022, the American Bankruptcy Institute named him one of its “40 Under 40” emerging leaders in insolvency.

Adam is a member of The Bankruptcy Strategist editorial board, serves on the Junior Advisory Board of Her Justice and is a leader of the UJA NextGen Bankruptcy and Reorganization Group. He is also a member of the New York City Bar’s bankruptcy committee. He serves as pro bono corporate counsel to the Brooklyn Public Library and the JCRC-NY.

  • Ad hoc group representations in connection with liability management, amendment and exchange transactions includes Diebold Nixdorf, Peabody Energy, Save A Lot, Murray Energy, Key Energy Services, Denbury Resources, Synchronoss Technologies and multiple nonpublic situations
  • Debtor representations include TerraVia, Bonanza Creek Energy, James River Coal Company, Patriot Coal and Pinnacle Airlines
  • Counsel to senior bank agent (including pre-petition, DIP and exit facilities) in Bed Bath & Beyond, Pacific Gas & Electric and other matters
  • Counsel to Delta Air Lines in connection with the chapter 11 proceedings of LATAM Airlines
  • Counsel to the Central Bank of Curaçao and St. Maarten and the foreign representative of ENNIA Caribe Holding N.V. in historic chapter 15 proceedings
