Position Summary

The Coordinator, Professional Development - Training ‎will provide organizational and logistical support for the ‎Training and CLE team and the firm’s global training ‎initiatives. This is a dynamic position requiring the ‎ability to demonstrate professionalism, effective ‎communication skills, and use of good judgment as a ‎valued member of a support team.‎

Essentials Duties and Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Professional Development – Training and CLE ‎Team Support

  • Assist in planning, logistical coordination, and execution of firmwide training initiatives, including coordinating with firm departments and attorneys
  • Act as point of contact for training-related questions and requests from business services staff and attorneys
  • Maintain files and general record-keeping for the Training and CLE team
  • Maintain calendars for in-house trainings
  • Provide other administrative, logistical, and organizational support for the Training team

Coordination of Training Programs

  • Assist with coordinating the firm’s global training initiatives, both in-house and through external consultants
  • Provide support for the firm’s major milestone training programs for 1st, 3rd, and 5th-year associates, including helping develop and improve curriculum and assisting with program logistics
  • Work with representatives from all offices and firm practice groups to ensure consistency in terms of quantity and quality of training programs firmwide
  • Track attendance at and analyze feedback from firmwide training programs to help develop and improve training initiatives
  • Assist with periodic training needs assessments, analyzing input from attorneys at all levels
Qualifications / Position Requirements
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and technical skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with lawyers, managers, and staff
  • Strong work ethic and ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and meet competing deadlines
  • Creative and thoughtful self-starter with excellent attention to detail
  • Pro-active problem solver
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to work well with internal and external clients
  • Customer service oriented; responsive to inquiries; strong independent problem solving skills
Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • At least one year’s experience with similar responsibilities in a large law firm with multiple CLE jurisdictions.
Compensation

The expected base salary for this position ranges ‎from $65,000-$90,000. Salary offers are based on a wide ‎range of factors including relevant skills, training, ‎experience, education, anticipated assignment, ‎and, where applicable, licensure or certifications ‎obtained. Market and organizational factors are ‎also considered. Davis Polk offers a competitive ‎salary and comprehensive benefits package.‎
